The knowledge up science communication office was founded to help people and organizations that are a source of valuable knowledge to reach the public and business with it.
We combine years of experience in communication on the business side with knowledge of the science sector. We understand the needs and communication concerns of researchers, university faculty, scientific institute staff and R&D company owners. As a result, we are able to offer them the most effective ways to increase the visibility of their knowledge.
At knowledge up, we often use tools typical of a public relations agency. However, the starting point for us is never the product, but always reliable knowledge that influences the development of society, the economy and drives change.
Michał Proszowski
General Manager
Knowledge up was founded by Michał Proszowski, who has been working in the field of communication since 2008.
He started his career as a journalist, then as an online editor, and finally as the deputy editor-in-chief of the Rzeczpospolita daily’s online services. Later, as the editor of the Onet.pl website, he developed his skills in managing information on the Internet.
In the communications department of PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, he participated in the implementation of more than 150 major PR projects, holding various positions from manager to communications director and spokesperson.
While working in one of Warsaw’s PR agencies, he managed projects for universities, scientific organizations, R&D companies and start-ups. It was at this stage that he recognized the need to transfer knowledge and experience from the business world to science communication – both at the content and management level.
Information literacy is a key 21st century competency for knowledge up. When this skill is in deficit, susceptibility to disinformation and cyberattacks increases, and audiences may become open to pseudoscience.
We are under no illusion – we cannot educate the public to a level that will eliminate these phenomena. However, we can consistently build a bridge between the public and the world of science and the reliable knowledge that flows from it.
By increasing the visibility of science, we aim to stimulate dialogue, provide participants in the public debate with solid scientific evidence, and raise awareness of the information society.
